Chuck Todd torn Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NN) after the High Democrat refused to address whether he saw no signs that Joe Biden was unsuitable for the presidency-telling the senior lawmaker that he is “as responsible as anyone else” for the loss of the White Democrats 2024.
Former NBC Host “Meet the Press”, which appeared on a CNN panel on Tuesday, reacted to Schumer’s refusal to answer questions from the Kasie Hunt’s anchor for Biden’s condition before the then president bend out of the race.
During her CNN interview, Hunt press Schumer repeatedly if he had seen signs of Biden’s cognitive fall during a meeting in February 2024 at the Oval-only months before the then president bowed out of the race after his catastrophic debate performance against President Trump.
“You sat next to Biden in the Oval office … Didn’t you really have any idea that he was not capable of serving a second term?” Asked hunt.
Schumer refused to respond directly, rather than being criticized to criticize the Republican -led reconciliation bill.
“Kasie, we’re looking forward to,” he said, repeating the phrase several times when Hunt tried to follow.
“You’re facing all this because you have lost a presidential choice. And isn’t this Joe Biden’s responsibility to decide to run again?” Printed hunt.
“We’re waiting forward,” repeated Schumer.
In response, Todd without loading Schumer, saying to the New York Senator, “He is one of the people responsible for this.”
Todd continued to blame the “Democratic Party leaders” and “White House staff” for concealing the fall of Biden despite the visible signs.
Todd added that the Democrats are unpopular because “Leve leadership [the public] down and let this happen. “
“He is as responsible as anyone else. He was a party leader. He could have said something sooner, and he didn’t,” Todd told Schumer.
Last month, Todd rejected claims that the media failed to cover the cognitive fall of President Biden, calling the charge a story “produced by the right arm”.
In an interview with Chris Cillizza, Todd said the media was not to blame and instead pointed to the finger at Democratic officials who, he argued, actively hid the issue.
A new book by CNN Jake Tapper and reporter Axios Alex Thompson details the length of which Biden aide sought to cover the extension of his age.
The Biden state had rejected to the point that he could not remember the names of the old aids and even Hollywood actor George Clooney, Tapper and Thompson writes in “Sin Original: the fall of President Biden, his coverage and his catastrophic choice to run again.”
Tapper and Thompson interviewed about 200 people, most of them senior Democratic officials who felt free to speak after the elections, but were less future while Biden was in office.
Todd retired to those who spoke to the authors, saying, “I find everyone now talking to these authors – go out here. Go home. You are part of the problem. Now you tell us?”
The previous moderator “meet with the press” said that “the reason why the Democratic Party has less credibility today” and “has a worse appreciation than the Republican Party” is “because of this distrust”.
