A now Bloomberg News reporter was arrested when anti-Israel protesters took over the main library of Columbia University this month, according to law enforcement sources.
Jason Kao, who also worked in the New York Times, was charged with criminal violations after NYPD officers entered the Butler library to recover the building’s Elite MorningSide Heights campus on May 7, sources confirmed on Monday.
Kao was given a ticket to the table after the arrest in Colombia.
The graphic journalist is no longer employed by financial news, a Bloomberg Post spokesman told him on Monday.
The spokesman refused to comment when asked when the last day was and if the journalist was fired or resigned.
The arrest of the former statement and the visible loss of labor were first reported by free lanterns.
It is also unclear what the role of the chao, a 2022 Colombian graduate who wrote for the College newspaper, played in the chaos in the library.
The post has reached NYPD for comment.
Police removed 81 people during the protest inside the Ivy League library, where protesters vandalized school property and clashed on batteries, disrupting other students trying to study for final exams earlier this month.
Claire Shipman school president said at the time that two security guards were also injured when masked demonstrators attacked the building.
More than 65 students have been faced since temporary suspensions, while 33 individuals from related institutions and an unspecified number of graduates have been banned from the campus.
Kao previously worked in the New York Times as part of his company program and recently contributed to a Bloomberg article on May 1, Free Beacon reported.
The Kao account now deleted X included numerous posts regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza following the attack of the terrorist group against Israel on October 7, 2023, according to Free Beacon.
Another high-profile person arrested while taking in the library was student Ramona Sarsgaard, the 18-year-old daughter of actress Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Attempts to reach the chao were unsuccessful on Monday evening.
