Meta “nudged” a prominent critic of great technology to help Mark Zuckerberg Curry social media giant with powerful Republicans before his historic antitrust trial as he seeks to avoid a division, posting has learned.
The Federal Commission of Trade has accused Zuckerberg of using a “buy or bury” strategy to defend a monopoly and is in the midst of a historic offer in the Federal Court to force meta to sell Instagram and WhatsApp. Zuckerberg was the first witness called to take the stay last month.
At the beginning of April, as the FTC trial, a Meta official called the media research center-an influential guard with the right of law that has developed a reputation to call for censorship of great technology and political prejudice, told the posting with knowledge of the call.
During the phone call with MRC executive Dan Schneider, Meta’s official mentioned the future issue of FTC and demanded Zuckerberg’s latest movement to eliminate its fact control unit-whose role of the past was widely criticized by Republicans-in favor of a milder community policy.

The phone call is the last sign of a constant lobbying Blitz by Zuckerberg and other meta officials targeting key Republicans, including President Trump himself.
“Time from Meta shows how desperate they were to avoid a trial,” a DC source told direct knowledge with the company’s lobbying efforts for The Post. “It takes balls to reject a nude of them – they can sink all your traffic.”
MRC has published several analyzes and studies that detail the censorship claimed by Google, Meta and other large technology firms – including an April 2024 report titled “39 times Facebook intervened in the US elections since 2008.”
In a December report, the MRC identified the alleged printing of information about the attempt to kill President Trump last July by Meta, Google and Amazon as the worst incident of the year.

Meta was one of some major technology companies that sponsored the White House Easter Eggs Rotate on April 21. The social media giant had a physical stand at the event, employed by numerous GOP bond operatives that used it as an opportunity to talk to GOP lawmakers.
Meta Public Policy Team – led by GOP Joel Kaplan’s long insider – has also made further efforts to connect with conservative influencers as it appears to provide more Republican support.
Last week, conservative activist Robby Starbuck – who sued Meta for defamation after his chatbot allegedly claimed that he participated on January 6 Capitol Riot – shared a last DM in which Meta Henry Rodgers, a Republican, asked him to “amplify” the details of the revised Meta.
After Starbuck’s lawsuit appeared in public, Kaplan took the rare step to issue a public pardon, admitting in a post x that the chatbot answers were “unacceptable”.

Zuckerberg has personally visited the White House at least three times and even bought a $ 23 million residence in Washington, DC to be closer to the administration.
