The Federal Communications Commission has revised the M&A agreements in the media space for decades and a major concern for the Agency is whether such combinations are in the “public interest”.
Purchase of Skydance $ 8 billion Paramount and its CBS news branch can simply pass the FCCâ Public Interest Test – a freely defined concept that includes promotion of justice in the broadcast and how companies are managed – if boys in charge of the new company, any loyalty to diversion, learned.
In fact, as long as the name of Trump Brendan Carr remains at the top of the FCC, getting rid of the so -called Dei will be a prerequisite for any media agreement that needs the approval of FCC, people with knowledge of Carr’s thinking.
The good news of the Skydance-Paramount combination is that the new management will be led by David Ellison. Skydance chief – and Trump’s son Pal Larry Ellison of Oracle Fame – and his partners in Redbird Capital are not fans of Dei, I’m told. They are likely to throw out of racial and gender job policies without much fuss, my sources say.
Bad news for the rest of the media industry: Super Woke companies will have to decide to give up their left -wing political prejudices if they want to survive the Trump responsible team.
A Skydance spokeswoman refused to comment on the issue as well as the press for press for Comcast and Disney. An FCC representative did not return a call for comment.
Carr, to know, is a long Telecom lawyer (he was a FCC commissioner before Trump appointed him chairman) and a conservative activist. He also believes he is in strong terrain demanding that all companies seeking his public interest interest. Acronation is best known as gender -based racial and gender quotas and is widespread in the employment and promotion of talent in the air, and in the wider work power, for most media companies.
While Skydance may be ready to dive dei, it will be a bitter pill for the broadcast industry, one of the smartest businesses on the planet. Disney’s media and park giant, as it points out in my book, “Go Woke go broke; the internal history of corporate America,” dei mandated in everything, from the characters to its cartoons to the work of practitioners.
Dei goes beyond the media, of course. That is why a Trans woman appeared in a Bud Light ad, drinking a beer and making fun of Mars madness. Dei is why the target target target presented a month of gay pride screens that were so graphic that its Customers Base of Middle America was rebelled.
Dei is why Harvard threw his admissions against Asian students with high achievement, and white men found it difficult to employ and promote large companies, especially after the 2020 assassination of George Floyd. The incident called for “racial justice” and soon quotas at work by many leftist politicians and their supporters in Corporate America.
But times are changing, or more accurate they have changed. The courts have ruled that racial preferences are unconstitutional, whether in college or employment. Donald Trump was elected to a platform to get rid of Dei when the federal government has a word on issues.
Corporate Unions-need approval by Trump-led regulatory agencies, including FCC-do well within those issues, my sources say. Carr, I am said, I believe it is within the “public interest” to stifle FCC agreements using FCC power to maintain local broadcasting licenses (with regard to cables, which do not have the same FCC rules if new companies have disagreed on local licenses.
In just a few months, Carr has opened cases related to Dei against Disney and NBC owned by Comcast. Wait more if the media joys get, as they have to give the Agenda easier to Trump.
Carrâ’s investigation into the paramount-scydance agreement has delayed joining months. He is looking at whether the union is accompanied by rules against public trust and interest, including the Trump administration claim that Dei is illegal and eventually not in the public interest.
He is also investigating the allegedly fraudulent editing of a controversial interview – 60 minutes in the minute of Kamala Harris during the campaign, if the news magazine edited her famous salad speech to make her sound more coherent, as many critics claim.
This investigation has teeth given the FCC authority on public air waves such as local transmission (compared to cable), which must again accompany the FCC public interest guidelines that determine justice in news transmission.
Like Skydance, Shari Redstone, the current main owner of Paramount, is looking forward to ensuring that Carr’s requests have been met to complete the deal and money on her $ 2 billion salary for money has learned. She is also seeking to repay a special $ 20 billion lawsuit filed by Trump against CBS News over the allegedly allegedly alleged interview edit Harris.
CBS has stated that the lawsuit is without merit, despite Redstone’s current reported plan to solve up to $ 20 million or maybe more, every day now.
