PBS and NPR both receive partial funds through the CPB, which Trump has argued that it is unnecessary in the current media environment.

“The CPB board will cease direct funds for NPR and PBS, in accordance with my administration policy to ensure that federal funds do not support one -sided and partisan news coverage,” he continued.

The order also aims to suspend the indirect funds of the NPR and PBA government by asking the CPB to ensure “the licenses and permits of public radio and television stations, as well as any other CPB funding receivers, do not use federal funds for NPR and PBS”.
The president, who has previously called for defamation of two media services, gave the CPB until June 30 to implement his directive.
The nonprofit corporation is set to receive $ 535 million in funds acquired in Congregals in the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years.
